Being from the Pacific NW, I know mountains can be finicky, so when we planned a day at Lake Kawaguchiko at the base of Mt. Fuji, I knew there was no guarantee of an actual mountain sighting.

There it is, the spectacular mountain, just behind those clouds!

Daya and I found a walking trail and explored around the lake.

We discovered that the lake has a lot of freshwater snails and very large fish.

There was big dark clouds in the distance and the humidity was high. A very pleasant breeze was coming off the lake.

There seemed to be some kind of kids festival at the park. Later that night we saw the fireworks. Tons of families were there enjoying the day.
