Sake Tasting Tour

We learned how sake is made, how to order different kinds, how polishing the rice changes the flavor, and that the fruity flavors come from the yeast.

Sake preferences varied strongly, the girls preferring fruitier varieties, David and I liking the drier versions.

They provided us 3 tastings during the beginning of the tour. Then we went to a private tasting room where we tried 7 more

the challenge for the 4 of us was that between our team experience and the sake, we had planned to put some food in our tummies… and it turned out there wasn’t time

luckily they provided food pairings for the second set of tastings. Then they added 2 more tastings for good measure.

We were extremely thankful for this tray of food. Aris and I managed to stay sober enough to navigate the subway back to the hotel.
