Hobbit Pub

We found a place called Brezel Gwölb (Pretzel Vault) that was basically just a pub for hobbits. (The rest of this post was written by David)

This place was in our Rick Steve’s tourbook otherwise we would have never found it. It was tucked in the tiny little alleyway, where only about 3 other people came through the whole time we were eating. This is in a pretty major global tourist area.

David enjoying a chantrelle soup. Chantrelles must be in season right now, because they are on all the menus. We keep picking them.
Trying to capture the quietness of the alley with a photo. Do you hear the photo? No, then it worked.

Rick* describes the place as Tolkienesque (a word (?) specifically crafted to entice David to go). So we went.

Frodo was here.
Samwise was here
Nobody was sitting here.

* We are on a first-name basis with Rick Steves because we feel like he’s been with us on this whole trip, because he only lives 30 miles from us, and because he is a huge dork like David.
