Miyajima
We traveled to Miyajima Island to see the Itsukushima Shrine and the Otorii gate. The shrine, appears to be floating on the water at high tide and on stilts during low tide. We arrived as the tide was coming in and got to watch it transform. We walked around the town and tried lots of…

Owl Sanctuary
We got to visit a place where you could visit the owls. Some we could pet on the back of the head, but not all of them. They look so fake! It was a hoot!

Bengal Cat Cafe
We had to get a little kitty time. One of them almost immediately curled up in Aris’s lap and stayed there the whole time. It wasn’t too long before Daya had a lap cat too. One of them jumped up onto my back, which was funny. We really loved their grumpy faces.

7-11 in Japan
There are 7-11 convenience stores everywhere here and they are full of quick foods. Our favorite is the egg salad sandwich on the yummy white bread. But there are so many crazy things to try. We got some wild stuff, like a chicken salad bar. Egg salad breakfast.

Dinner in Kawaguchiko
Aris found us the best reviewed restaurant in the area and we walked through back alleys and past immaculate vegetable gardens full of perfect corn to get to this restaurant. We were concerned that the reviews were all bots or something because there so glowing. The place was quite trendy looking. Bar seating and 2…
