Klimpt

We pretty much went to see The Kiss, but there were many other great works at the Belvedere. I was sad to see that Judith was on loan to a museum in Berlin. That’s a very good piece.

Here is a work I need a copy of for David. Monet.
This was a very powerful piece. The Evil Mothers by Giovanni Segantini. 1894
A woman trapped by a tree, struggles to get free while a child’s head sucks at her breast unwanted.
Klimpt’s version of Adam and Eve. Notice who has the power in this painting. No apple needed for temptation here. This was new to me and I loved it.
Klimpt, for anytime who sees his work and thinks his work isn’t completely intentional, this is an extraordinary portrait that looked out of place like a photograph on the wall of art.
Klimpt, The Kiss. This is what we came for. It glitters and flows in the light. It’s square and I’ve never seen it portrayed that way. It’s huge. It’s powerful, so glad I got to see it.
Me with ‘The Kiss’ yes I’m totally that sweaty. It was warm in there.
