We arrived in Budapest and were picked up by our Hungarian family at the train station.
Jázmin, Greta and Eva were all there to meet us. Jázmin got taller in a year.

From there we headed out of Budapest for lunch at a traditional Hungarian restaurant.

To start our meal we had a shot of Unicum, an herbal alcoholic shot, supposed to be great for digestion.

Also a color changing Gin and Tonic, which started blue and ended up a pretty purple.

I had a traditional catfish paprikash, David had a pork dish with fried bacon, onions, and potatoes. One of our dishes was supposed to be small, but both were crazy huge portions.

Next we headed to a park full of miniature castles.

The GPS got us lost in some random neighborhood nearby. We stopped to ask a shirtless local man with a tan ample belly who provided us helpful directions. After heading back on our way again we decided this was the Hungarian GPS system. We were then able to get in the neighborhood, but had not found it when a different shirtless man appeared to point us on our way. The system works. Guy Pointing Shirtless

Each castle included a photo of what they look like now, sometimes just an empty field, and the dates built, when/who destroyed them.

There were also traditional bowls, pitchers, platters, and jugs. The wall of saints was 600 hand carved wooden saints with information about each one.

Some jugs may have been magically cursed.
