Arrival in Nyíregyháza

We arrived at Jázmin’s home where we first had to meet Lujza, who only barked at us for a couple minutes.

Lujza

And we got to meet Katimama and Imipapa.

Palinka or unicum?

Imipapa immediately tried to get us to drink palinka. He was so kind and happy.

Stuffed cabbage

Katimama made is a huge pot of stuffed cabbage (töltött káposzta). She made us feel so welcome.

And she prepared no less than 5 deserts.

Layered cakes

Cakes and plum stuffed breads.

Hókifli

If you ever get the opportunity to try Hungarian stuffed cabbage, try it. Don’t let the c word get to you, this is not vegetable dish.

This is my favorite Hungarian food.
